[HOTEL REVIEW] Hilton Sharjah

Overlooking the lovely Khalid Lagoon, the Hilton Sharjah is an upscale property with quality amenities but underwhelming rooms, set within driving distance of Dubai. Waterfront views here are more jaw-dropping than interiors, which are grand, but a bit dated. The 259 rooms have generic, neutral-tone decor and shower/tub combos in most, but beds are comfy and amenities include flat-screen TVs, kettles, and minibars. While many rooms offer lagoon views, note, mosque-facing ones are subject to early-morning prayer calls. A spa accompanies two small pools and a kids' pool, but there are no dedicated kids' activities. Food is well-reviewed at the on-site international buffet and Iranian restaurants, but note, despite three lounges, there is no alcohol served here. Although the hotel provides free shuttles to the beach, travelers looking to be along the sand should check out the Coral Beach Resort Sharjah.
